Qualche giorno fa vi abbiamo parlato dell'annunciato sequel di Welcome to Zombieland, the horror comedy directed by Ruben Fleischer in 2009 and starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard and Bill Murray. The logo bearing the title Zombieland 2 era infatti apparso in una proiezione durante il CinemaCon di Las Vegas. Oggi invece è stata diffusa la notizia relativa all'inizio delle riprese del seguito, fissate per il mese di agosto, ad Atlanta. Questo almeno quanto riportato dai diversi siti di casting.
Trattasi quindi di un'ulteriore conferma sull'effettivo sviluppo di questo atteso progetto.
Likely to write the script for the sequel will once again be Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick while directing this second installment, may again be Ruben Fleischer. There are no details on the plot, however.
Welcome to Zombieland was certainly one of the biggest box office successes, at least in the genre, with earnings of more than 100 million within its first month of release. Recall that in 2013 the franchise also spawned a TV series, but this was not as successful as hoped and was cancelled.
