Focus Features has shared the official trailer for You Won't Be Alone (Australia - 2022), the witchcraft horror starring Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (Men Who Hate Women, Prometheus), recently seen in Lamb and The Trip.
The film is written and directed by Australian filmmaker Goran Stolevski and will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, which opens on January 20, 2022, and then arrive in U.S. theaters on April 1.
The story of You Won't Be Alone takes place in an isolated mountain village located in 19th-century Macedonia and features a little girl who is kidnapped by an evil creature and transformed into a hag. Intrigued by the lives of humans, the hag kills young girls from time to time in order to take possession of their bodies and live secretly among the other villagers, imitating their lifestyle.
The witch will thus continue to wield this horrible power to understand what it means to be human.
In the cast of You Won't Be Alone there are also Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud and Sara Klimoska.
The film is produced by Kristina Ceyton (The Babadook, The Nightingale) and Sam Jennings (Cargo).
