On the same day of its theatrical release, the horror film XÂ has been banned for under-18s by the Commission for the Classification of Cinematographic Works commissioned by the General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture.
Diretto da Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers), il film è stato reputato non adatto ai minori per "the set of scenes in which one or more sensitive contents are present, the tone and potential impact of these scenes as well as the narrative context, the level of intensity of the sensitive content detected". The effective mixture of horror and porn have consequently led to raising the ban on viewing to those over 18 years of age.
X won the approval of the king of terror Stephen King, who called it "An extremely good horror film. Scary, intelligent, self-aware. Ah!
The cast includes Mia Goth (Marrowbone, Suspiria), Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, Kid Cudi, Martin Henderson, Owen Campbell, and Stephen Ure.
