On the same day of its theatrical release, the horror film X has been banned for under-18s by the Commission for the Classification of Cinematographic Works commissioned by the General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture.
Directed by Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers), the film was deemed not suitable for minors for "the set of scenes in which one or more sensitive contents are present, the tone and potential impact of these scenes as well as the narrative context, the level of intensity of the sensitive content detected". The effective mixture of horror and porn have consequently led to raising the ban on viewing to those over 18 years of age.

X won the approval of the king of terror Stephen King, who called it "An extremely good horror film. Scary, intelligent, self-aware. Ah! And funny, too" and is released in theaters today, distributed by Midnight Factory.

The story takes place in 1979, when a troupe of ambitious, success-hungry young men decide to shoot an adult film in rural Texas. However, the elderly couple hosting it on an isolated, undisturbed farm begins to take a lascivious interest in the young actors. Overnight, this morbid interest will explode in all its violence and terror.

The cast includes Mia Goth (Marrowbone, Suspiria), Jenna Ortega, Brittany Snow, Kid Cudi, Martin Henderson, Owen Campbell, and Stephen Ure.
