Saban Film has released the official trailer for Wrong Turn, the reboot of Wrong Turn - The forest is hungry (2003) by Rob Schmidt. Directed by Mike P. Nelson (The Domestics), the new Wrong Turn Is the seventh chapter in the saga.
The film was given an R Rating due to "blood, violence, gruesome images and inappropriate language" and will not be shown in U.S. theaters until Jan. 26, 2021.
Plot: a group of friends decide to hike the Appalachian Trail. Here they will make the unpleasant acquaintance of the "Foundation," a community of people who have lived in the mountains since the Civil War and do not like the presence of outsiders.
The cast consists of Charlotte Vega (The Lodgers - Don't Break the Rules), Matthew Modine (Birdy - Shawshank, Full Metal Jacket), Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night), Emma Dumont (The Gifted), Valerie Jane Parker, Chaney Morrow (Haunt), David Hutchinson (American Horror Story), Bill Sage, Dylan McTee, Adrian Favela and Adain Bradley.
The screenplay of Wrong Turn is by Alan B. McElroy, the author of the script of the original film (Wrong Turn - The Woods Are Hungry).
The saga Wrong Turn was started in 2003 by Rob Schmidt with Wrong Turn - The forest is hungry. After the two sequels Wrong Turn 2 - No Way Out (2007) and Wrong Turn 3 - Deadly Turn (2009), three prequels were made viz. Wrong Turn 4 - The Mountain of Fools (2011), Wrong Turn 5 - Bloodbath (2012) e Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014).
