After production problems, for the apocalyptic horror/action film World War Z 2 new obstacles have presented themselves. Indeed, it was announced that director Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) withdrew from the project because he was busy finishing his new film, A Monster Calls.
Thus, the U.S. release date, set for June 9, 2017, may slip, although Paramount says it is committed to meeting the target date.
The script for the sequel to World War ZÂ is edited by Steven Knight and Dennis Kelly. Brad Pitt rejoins the film's production and will once again reprise his starring role playing Gerry Lane, the former United Nations investigator trying to cope with the zombie apocalypse.
We remember you that World War Z, directed by Marc Forster in 2013, is based on the novel of the same name by American writer Max Brooks.
