World premiere for German Angst: teaser trailer and poster

angstGerman Angst, the long-awaited German horror anthology about love, sex and death, will have its world premiere on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the 44th International Film Festival Rotterdam. German Angst involves no less than three of the most disturbing directors of the German underground scene, such as Jörg Buttgereit, Andreas Marschall and Michal Kosakowski, each of whom directed an episode. The story of the three segments takes place in Berlin.

The first episode, "Final Girl", is directed by Jörg Buttgereit, known for directing extreme and deviant necrophiliac-themed films (Nekromantik films in 1987 and Nekromantik 2 in 1991) and finalgirlother disturbing films always centered on the poetics of death such as Der Todesking (1989) e Schramm (1993).
In "Final Girl" a girl wakes up in a Berlin apartment where a naked and terrified 50-year-old man is tied to the bed in the bedroom. The young woman is tired of being the victim.
The cast includes Lola Gave and Axel Holst.

alrauneThe second segment is entitled "Alraune" and is directed by Andreas Marschall (Masks), director of the intense Tears of Kali (2004), a film consisting of three episodes in which spiritual ecstasy is achieved through pain.
In "Alraune", the protagonist is a man who ventures into the world of fetish thanks to a secret society that has promised him the attainment of intense sexual pleasure through the use of mandrake, a plant known in the past for its magical and aphrodisiac qualities. The effects achieved will be negative, however, and the victim will have to confront his carnal obsessions.
The actors, in addition to Milton Welsh and Kristina Kostiv, include Italian actress Désirée Giorgetti (Morituris).

makeawish"Make a Wish" is the title of the final segment of German Angst and is directed by Michal Kosakowski, known for directing the disturbing shockumentary Zero Killed 2012.
A deaf-mute couple is attacked by a group of thugs. However, the two are in possession of a talisman by which they will be able to defend themselves and take revenge. The price to be paid will be very high.
The cast of this episode consists of Martina Schoene-Radunski, Daniel Faust, Andreas Pape, Denis Lyons, Matthan Harris, and Annika Strauss.
