Just before the start of filming, Universal decided to postpone the release date of Wolf Man, a reboot of the 1941 film of the same name. The wolf man directed George Waggner and starring Lon Chaney Jr. in 1941.
Wolf Man features Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man) as director, and the release date has slipped from October 25, 2024 to January 17, 2025.
After the success of The invisible man (2020), Universal has decided to breathe new life into the "wolf man," another of its classic monsters who in the new Wolf Man will have the face of Christopher Abbott (Possessor), a role that had originally been given to Ryan Gosling (Drive, Only God Forgives). However, the latter remained involved in the project as an executive producer.
The film is produced by Blumhouse, which has already collaborated with Leigh Whannell in TheThe invisible man.
The screenplay is by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo on a subject by Ryan Gosling himself.
We remember you that The wolf man (1941) had a remake in 2010. It is about Wolfman, a horror film directed by Joe Johnston and starring Benicio del Toro.
