Five months after the our first article on Witchula, we are back to talking about Marcus Bradford's film. Witchula has been presented as a major project that, in addition to dealing with various horror figures including werewolves, vampires and witches, counts among its monsters the presence of a new creature and to be precise a hybrid: the witch-vampire.
The news released in recent hours concerns the co-production agreement between MAB Studios and the British production company Silent Studios Productions, also known for distributing such films as Zombie Playground, Infected, Extinction and Torture.
Marcus Bradford, an American actor (Reunion) and producer who recently embarked on a career as a director and screenwriter, also handled the film's screenplay along with Pat Kusnadi. The two are also its producers along with John Blythe (My Amityville Horror, One Day When the Rains Fell), Matt Chassin (Krampus - The Christmas Devil, Krampus 2; The Devil Returns).
Witchula thus enjoys a production team with a long career in horror films, independent but otherwise. The cast boasts the presence of well-known actors such as Bill Oberst Jr. (Take This Lollipop, The Chair, Death House) and Eileen Dietz, the New York actress known for playing Pazuzu (the famous demon face) in the cult film The Exorcist. The other confirmed names are Marilyn Ghigliotti, Ruth Reynolds, Jeremy Tristan, Tade Adepoyibi, Destiny Soria, Anil Sankaramanchi and Joseph Love.
Marcus Bradford revealed that in the coming months he will announce the names of other horror icons who will be part of the cast of Witchula, a film that producer John Blythe himself has presented as one of the biggest horror titles in terms of budget. The team itself, on the other hand, speaks of it as a terrifying work designed to send shivers down the spines of the horror crowd.
The plot of the film: a young pregnant student is worried about the life of her future unborn child as a powerful witch-vampire is interested in her baby. The girl will try hard to kill the dangerous creature with the help of her boyfriend in order to protect the baby.
