During the virtual market in Cannes, Willy's Wonderland has been sold in several countries including Italy, where it will be distributed by Eagle Pictures. This is reported by Hollywood Reporter.
Willy's Wonderland is the working title of the horror film formerly known as the Wally's Wonderland and starring Nicolas Cage (Mandy, Color Out of Space), here as a man who must defend himself against dangerous possessed animatronics.
A new poster and official synopsis are available of the film.
Directed by Kevin Lewis (The Drop) on a script penned by G.O. Parsons, the film was billed as a cross between The pale knight and Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
In the cast of Wally's Wonderland, in addition to Nicolas Cage, are Emily Tosta, Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), Ric Reitz (The Resident) and Chris Warner (Machete).
Plot: An out-of-towner (Nicolas Cage) gets stranded in a remote town. Unable to pay for the repair of his Jeep, the man agrees to make good the debt by spending the night cleaning the Willy's Wonderland, an abandoned amusement park filled with animatronics. The place, however, will turn into a death trap when all the mechanical puppets, which have suddenly become evil, come alive to annihilate the intruder.
The wanderer will thus be forced to make his way between one monster and another, trying to survive until morning.
