IFC Films has released, online, the official trailer for When Evil Lurks, the new horror film written and directed by Demián Rugna, the director of Terrified (aka Aterrados, Terrified).
When Evil Lurks had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last Sept. 13 and will debut in U.S. theaters on Oct. 6 through IFC Films, then arrive on Shudder on the 27th.
The story of When Evil Lurks stars Pedro (Ezequiel Rodríguez) and Jimmy (Demián Salomon), two brothers who, convinced that the cause of the poisoning of local livestock is the possessed woman from the neighboring farm, attempt to evict her from their land. Failing to perform the proper exorcism rites, their reckless actions inadvertently trigger an epidemic of possession in the rural community. Now the two brothers will have to escape an invasive evil that corrupts and maims everyone it comes in contact with, becoming unstoppable.
In the cast of When Evil Lurks there are Ezequiel Rodriguez, Demián Salomon, Luis Ziembrowski, Silvia Sabater and Marcelo Michinaux.
