What We Do in the Shadows: coming soon New Zealand horror comedy.

what What We Do in the Shadows is the title of a hilarious horror comedy from New Zealand that is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on February 13, 2015. The film is written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, who have devoted themselves purely to acting in the past. The two will also be part of the cast of their film playing vampires Vladislav and Viago, respectively.

The story of What We Do in the Shadows centers on Viago, Deacon and Vladislav, three vampires who live together under the same roof imitating the lives of ordinary mortals. They will in fact pay rent, do household chores and spend their evenings in pubs trying to blend in with people, although what differentiates them from the rest of the world is immortality as well as bloodlust. When their old roommate turns 20-year-old Nick into a vampire, the three will have to help the young man adjust to the new life to which he has been condemned.

what-we-do-posterIn addition to Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the cast is joined by Jonathan Brugh (the vampire Deacon), Cori Gonzalez-Macuer (Nick), Ben Fransham, Stuart Rutherford, Jackie van Beek, Belle Gwilliam, Aaron Lewis, Madeleine Sami, and Elena Stejko.
The film is produced by director and actor Taika Waititi along with Chelsea Winstanley and Emanuel Michael.
Richard Bluck and D.J. Stipsen handled the photography instead.
