Thanks to Vanity Fair the first images of Wednesday, the series dedicated to Wednesday Addams, the daughter of Morticia and Gomez.
The stills depict the Addams family with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Jenna Ortega instead is Wednesday, and Isaac Ordonez is Pugsley:
Created by Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Batman - The Return, Corpse Bride) and Miles Millar (Smallville), Wednesday will arrive on Netflix this fall.
Tim Burton is involved in the project as executive producer (along with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar) and as director, directing four of the eight episodes of the first season.
Miles Millar stated, "For us, it was crucial that the series not look like a remake or a reboot... It is not related to the previous movies or TV series“.
“Three days after receiving the script for the first episode, Tim Burton was interested in the direction the series would take and the mystery at the center of it. He asked us many questions about our previous work...." adds Alfred Gough.
Miles Millar instead points out that "The ambition is to make an eight-hour long Tim Burton film".
Plot: Wednesday is a student at Nevermore Academy, a prestigious school for "outcasts." Here the young Addams will have to learn to master her psychic powers to shed light on the antecedents that affected her family 25 years ago and to foil a series of murders affecting her host town.
