Kevin Greutert, the director of Saw VI (2009), Saw 3D - The Final Chapter (2010) e Dark presences (2014), directs Visions (USA - 2015), a supernatural thriller-horror in which the protagonist's nightmares and hallucinations play a key role.

Indeed, the story casts the lights on Eveleigh (Isla Fisher), a mother-to-be who moves with her husband David (Anson Mount) to a new house with a vineyard. Here the woman will be the only one haunted by strange noises and sinister apparitions. David, on the other hand, is increasingly concerned about the state of his wife's health, who, in a desperate attempt to prove her sanity, begins to investigate the house's past. Emerging into the light, the dark history of the vineyard will endanger Eveleigh and her child.

Greutert's film manages to keep the dangerous situation in which the protagonist finds herself constant. A supernatural or real danger, however, that is unable to fully engage the audience. As per the title, Visions points to visions/anticipations of the future, only to result in an ending that is disappointing to say the least and unashamedly reminiscent of the famous Inside (À l'intérieur) by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo.

Visions is ultimately a weak horror film that, despite allusions to Roman Polanski's film and that of the French duo, fails in the slightest to convey the state of anxiety, terror, and anguish that the two films are capable of exerting.
Very soft even in the horror sequences, Visions is a mediocre title, unable to convey any kind of emotion and, for that very reason, quite forgettable.

In the cast of Visions we find Isla Fisher (Body Snatchers - Burke & Hare, Nocturnal Animals), Anson Mount, Gillian Jacobs, Eva Longoria, Joanna Cassidy, Jim Parsons, Michael Villar, Bryce Johnson, John de Lancie, Annie Tedesco, Roberto 'Sanz' Sanchez, and Jeff Branson.
The film is written by Lucas Sussman.
