Released a few hours ago the teaser poster of Virus: Extreme Contamination, the new horror film by Domiziano Cristopharo that will be shot in Kosovo and whose cast will feature important local names along with Italian ones. Produced by Filmon Aggujaro and Halil Budakova, Virus: Extreme Contamination points to Horror in its most macabre expression. In fact, the film will draw on the genre filmography of the 1980s to carp about the bleakest and most unhealthy aspects of the films of such masters as Lucio Fulci and John Carpenter and to breathe new life into a genre that has become too contaminated.
Virus: Extreme Contamination is inspired by the short story "The Colour Out of Space" by H.P. Lovecraft and as such promises edgy, bone-chilling suspense, denying any glimmer of hope for viewers as well as for its protagonists, who will have to face the beginnings of a new world full of death and ferocious monstrous creatures. Could it be that the time has come for the return of the Great Old Ones?
Abstract: An Italian scientist goes to Kosovo to study the impact of a meteorite that is presumed to be the cause of some strange events that have occurred there. Upon reaching the destination, the man discovers that the celestial body has been moved to a nearby military base, where all the people have turned into monstrous creatures.
The screenplay was handled by Cristopharo himself along with the well-known Antonio Tentori while the soundtrack will be by Antony Coia. Recall that the three also collaborated together in the episodic film E.N.D. in the "Reveniens“.
The cast consists of Michael Segal (Wrath of the Crows) and Rimi Beqiri ("The Return of Helen" in 17 at Midnight). They are joined by showgirl and actress Paola Barale while the rest of the cast consists of Halil Budakova, Merita Budakova, Vilson Spaqi, Adrian Vila, Hasan Lushi, Adam Kicaj, Avni Lushtaku and Faik Gashi.
