Scritto dallo stesso Balagueró insieme a Fernando Navarro (Verónica, Unknown Origins), il film è ispirato al racconto "Dreams in the haunted house" di H.P. Lovecraft e debutterà delle sale spagnole il 2 dicembre.
Presentato dal regista come un horror ricco di "terrore, sangue, aberrazioni e persone terribilmente cattive", Venus is the story of Lucía, a dancer on the run with a stash of pills and hunted by mobsters. She takes refuge in an apartment building, located on the outskirts of Madrid, with her sister Rocío and niece Alba, only to discover that the building is dominated by malevolent supernatural forces.
Venus was the opening film of the 2022 Sitges Film Festival and is the second film in the horror series "Fear Collection", a label created by Sony Pictures International Productions in collaboration with Pokeepsie Films (production company of Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang) and Prime Video. The first film in this collection is. Veneciafrenia (2021) by Álex de la Iglesia.
