urbanWhile a thunderstorm rages one night, a young girl stops at a gas station to get gas, when from the back of the car a man dressed in black attacks and kills her.
At New England Pendleton College, an institution considered by all to be safe, a series of murders occur, at the hands of a mysterious killer. The first to die will be Daemon (Joshzua Jackson) the school bully, always busy playing pranks.
No one but Natalie (Alicia Witt) is concerned about this. All her friends seem to have other things on their minds. Sasha (Tara Reid) is very busy with her sex-centered radio show; Brenda (Rebecca Gayheart) is too busy flirting with Paul (Jared Leto).
The girl, who is hiding a terrible secret, together with Paul, who writes for the school newspaper, will bring the truth to light.

Inspiring deaths by urban legends is a good idea.
If, instead of the classic story with the masked murderer killing young students, more effort had been put into the screenplay to come up with something more original, this film would certainly have gotten more attention.
However, one must also give credit to the film, such as the successful crime sequences, which are violent and well executed. Particular that gives the film its charm is, moreover, given by the fact that it was, almost entirely, shot at night. Even the sequences interspersed during the day are set in dark places, and this detail makes Urban legend, with music by Christopher Young and a screenplay by Silvio Horta, a fairly bleak film. It is directed by Jamie Blanks.
To be watched for culture.
