After revealing exclusively for Italy the fourth chapter of the saga American Guinea Pig or Sacrifice, Poison Rouge's Italian extreme horror, we are pleased to announce a new release tagged Unearthed Films on the occasion of which, we present new artwork, trailers and several stills, some of which are unreleased.
These are Red Krokodil, another extreme Italian film that we reviewed a few years ago (link to review). The film will be available for home video (at a date to be determined) thanks to the American label of Stephen Biro, who is always keen to bring audiences good, must-see extreme horror films.
Red Krokodil will be presented in a director's cut version (a 2K restoration) with a new color. The DVD, with rich extras, will also have a new poster (which you can view here on the right).
Directed by Red Krokodil (Italy - 2014) is the prolific Domiziano Cristopharo, author of other notable horror films such as House of Flesh Mannequins, Doll Syndrome, Hyde's Secret Nightmare and Bloody Sin (just to name a few). The Roman director is also involved in American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice (review here) as director of photography and producer.
As per title, Red Krokodil (whose screenplay is by Francesco Scardone) deals with the theme of krokodil, a cheap (and, for that very reason, widely used) drug that is easy to make but has devastating effects: before death, in fact, it causes skin desquamation and tissue necrosis.
Stepping into the role of a drug addict left to his own devices is Brock Madson, by the way the only actor, who gives the audience an extraordinary performance. His performance is a mirror of the psychic and physical consequences caused by krokodil.
