Underworld returns to the big screen with its fifth installment, the title of which was announced in recent hours by The Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment. Underworld Blood Wars will once again bring Kate Beckinsale to take on the role of the vampire Selene. Along with her, this new film will see the return of actors Theo James and Charles Dance.
In Blood Wars sarà svelato un nuovo personaggio che, grazie alle fattezze dell'attore Tobias Menzies, coprirà il ruolo di Marius, il leader dei Lycan. Farà la sua comparsa nel cast anche Lara Pulver, nei panni di un nuovo vampiro. Il film sarà diretto da Anna Foerster (qui al suo debutto sul grande schermo) su una sceneggiatura di Cory Goodman.
Inizialmente annunciato nell'agosto 2014, come reboot della saga, questo nuovo capitolo sarà un sequel a tutti gli effetti. Le riprese sono già iniziate in ottobre dello scorso anno, in quel di Praga (Repubblica Ceca). La data provvisoria di release è stata anticipata dal 21 al 14 ottobre 2016.
