Sony Pictures Entertainment ha diffuso, online, i primi dieci minuti di Umma (USA – 2022), l’horror sulla kumiho (termine coreano che sta per succube), lo spirito volpe a nove code del folklore coreano.
Written and directed by Iris K. Shim, Umma is produced by Sam Raimi, an American film director, screenwriter, actor and producer known for directing the trilogy of Evil Dead and three chapters of the saga Spider-Man.
Umma è disponibile per il video on demand (mercato USA) e attualmente non è stata annunciata alcuna data italiana.
Protagonista della storia è Sandra Oh, attrice canadese che ha ottenuto successo grazie all’interpretazione di Cristina Yang nella serie televisiva Grey’s Anatomy.
Plot: Amanda (Sandra Oh) lives a quiet life with her daughter (Fivel Stewart) on an American farm. When the ashes of her deceased mother arrive from Korea, a series of visions and terrifying experiences begin to haunt the woman, who is increasingly afraid of becoming like her mother.

According to legend, kumiho are foxes that have lived for a thousand years and have the power to change their appearance. They are also seen as malevolent creatures that are bloodthirsty and hungry for human flesh.
