treehouseThe horror thriller TreeHouse (2014) by Michael Bartlett, a British director who has three other genre works behind him (The Zombie Diaries, World of the Dead: The Zombie Diaries and The Paranormal Diaries: Clophill), is currently at the Cannes Film Festival seeking distribution.

The protagonist of the story is Elizabeth (Dana Melanie) who, returning home after school, witnesses the kidnapping of her younger brother. What has happened to the girl is not an isolated incident: in fact, the entire town is shaken by sightings of strange humanoids. Meanwhile, other children begin to disappear while adults are either found hanged or crucified and burned. Animals, on the other hand, are given terrible mutilations.

Brothers Killian (J. Michael Trautmann) and Crawford (Daniel Fredrick) happen to meet Elizabeth, hiding and terrified in a treehouse. Thanks to her they become aware of what is happening around them.

Written de Alex Child and Miles Harrington, Treehouse, as the title itself specifies, has as the focus of the story the tree house i.e., a kind of shelter that serves as protection from the forces of Evil.
The release date has not yet been officially announced.
In the cast: Dana Melanie, J. Michael Trautmann, Daniel Fredrick, Clint James (No Way Out, Live Evil), Chance Nichols and Darren Kennedy.
