Trap: M. Night Shyamalan will direct a film for Warner Bros.

Celebrated director and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, And the Day Came, Split, Old) has announced his separation from Universal and move to Warner Bros, a deal that will be unveiled with Trap, a new film to be released in 2024.

According to reports from Deadline, in fact, after a string of successes with Universal (including the recent Old and Knock on the door), M. Night Shyamalan has signed a multi-year directing and production deal with Warner Bros. under which the director and his production company (Blinding Edge Pictures) will develop original projects for Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema.

The first project is entitled precisely. Trap and will be released in U.S. theaters on August 2, 2024. Currently, only the release date has been announced, without revealing the genre or plot of the film.
