On the occasion of the release, the poster and official trailer for Backwoods, the horror slasher directed by Thomas Smith (Night Hunters) and featuring a group of teenagers hunted by a new villain: The Hanged Man (played by Scott Alan Warner).
Backwoods will be available for video on demand starting Dec. 1, 2020 through Gravitas Ventures.
Plot: Having awakened bound and gagged in the trunk of her boyfriend's car, student and cheerleader Molly (Isabella Alberti) manages to free herself and escape into the forest. There, however, she will come face to face with the town's urban legend namely "the hanged man," a deformed fanatic who is said to have killed many intruders but spared the lives of women and then treated them as "brides."
Together with a friend and a rescuer, Molly will try to find a way out of that nightmare.
The cast of Backwoods consists of Isabella Alberti, Jeremy Sande, Scott Alan Warner, Tahj Vaughans, Micahel Anthony Bagozzi, Erin Liley, Angelina Alberti, Elliot Hamilton, and Matthew McCoy.
The screenplay for the film is by Erin Lilley and Thomas Smith.
