We continue to talk about The Void (Canada - 2016), the Canadian horror film that debuted in U.S. theaters last April 7 (for Screen Media Films), about three more interesting posters. Loved by many since the first trailers and stills put out, The Void has undoubtedly held a certain fascination for fans of the old-style horror genre.
Written and directed by Jeremy Gillespie (Inferno of the Dead, Father's Day) and Steven Kostanski ("W is for Wish" segment in ABCs of Death 2), the film in fact enjoys succulent special effects and evocative Lovecraftian and, in particular, Carpenterian atmospheres (The Thing).
The Void had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest. The film also had its premiere at the London Film Festival, Stockholm International Film Festival, Toronto After Dark Film Festival, and Abertoir Horror Festival.
In the cast: Ellen Wong, Kathleen Munroe, Stephanie Belding, Kenneth Welsh, Evan Stern, Aaron Poole, Art Hindle, Daniel Fathers, Amy Groening, Trish Rainone and Grace Munro.
The film is produced by Casey Walker and Jonathan Bronfman. Cinematography is by Samy Inayeh.
