With a post on Twitter, the production and distribution company NEON announced that the cult horror It Follows (2014) will have a sequel: They Follow.
David Robert Mitchell will again direct, and he will also write the screenplay, while Maika Monroe will return as the main character Jay.
They Follow will be produced by NEON and filming will start in 2024.
It Follows grossed, at the U.S. box office alone, about $15 million. The film is produced, written, and directed by David Robert Mitchell.
The story sheds light on Jay, a 19-year-old girl who falls victim to a kind of haunting by a supernatural entity and is sexually transmitted. The young girl will not only be haunted by strange visions but will have the terrible feeling that she is being stalked. Together with her friends, the girl will search for a way to stay alive.
