IGN has shared the official trailer for The Yellow Wallpaper (Irlanda - 2021), l’horror gotico diretto da Kevin Pontuti, qui alla regia del suo primo lungometraggio.
Presented as a chilling and original vision of madness, The Yellow Wallpaper is played by Alexandra Loreth, who also appears on the film crew as a screenwriter alongside Kevin Pontuti.
The film will arrive on streaming platforms (US) on March 29 with Mutiny Pictures.
The Yellow Wallpaper is the film adaptation of the short story of the same name written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman in 1892. The literary work itself was praised by H. P. Lovecraft in his essay "Supernatural Horror in Literature" of 1927.
Plot: Jane (Alexandra Loreth) is a writer and a young mother who is prescribed rest therapy by her physician husband John. Therefore, during the summer season, the man moves with his wife to a remote country estate. Here, however, the woman will become obsessed with the yellow wallpaper (chosen by her husband himself) in the bedroom.
While in solitary confinement, Jane will secretly write about a woman who is trapped in wallpaper and whom she will try to free.
