The Witch, one of the most anticipated horror films of 2016, today enjoys (thanks to A24 Films) a chilling new trailer that features dark atmospheres, macabre sounds and strong visuals. The U.S. release date has been brought forward to next February 19.
Abstract: Forced to abandon his plantation, farmer William moves with his family to another piece of land. The place, however, is said to be cursed and populated by witches, and in fact strange events including the death of animals and withering crops are not slow to occur. This is also compounded by the disappearance of a little girl, Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy) who, however, will mysteriously turn up years later. The locals suspect that the little girl is possessed by a spirit and accuse her of witchcraft.
