Universal Pictures has just released the official Italian trailer for The Witch, the horror genre film about witchcraft and will see the light of Italian theaters starting next August 18. Written and directed by Robert Eggers, the film won Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival.
Plot: New England, 1630. A very religious farmer is forced to abandon his plantation and move, along with his family, to another piece of land at the edge of the woods. Suspected of witchcraft, Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy), the man's teenage daughter, is blamed for the death of animals and withering crops and other strange occurrences at the site.
The cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie, Harvey Scrimshaw, Ellie Grainger, Lucas Dawson, and Julian Richings.
America, The Witch was supported by the Satanist organization founded by Lucien Greaves in 2013 and known by the name "The Satanic Temple."
