The Well (2023), l’horror che segna il ritorno alla regia di Federico Zampaglione (Shadow, Tulpa – Perdizioni mortali), sarà presentato in anteprima mondiale al Sitges Film Festival 2023, dove verrà proiettato venerdì 6 ottobre nella sezione "Midnight X-treme", presso il Cinema Retiro.
Il regista ha commentato: "I am more than excited to have the world premiere of The Well a Sitges, un festival che amo davvero. Far parte della sezione 'Midnight X-treme' è molto emozionante ed è il posto perfetto per il mio nuovo film... visto che è davvero molto, molto estremo! Preparatevi, compagni!".
Produced by Hyperuranium Film, The Well stars Lauren LaVera, star of the blockbuster horror slasher Terrifier 2 (2022) by Damien Leone.
In The Well, Lauren LaVera is Lisa Gray, a budding art restorer and daughter of art, who travels to a small Italian village to work on a medieval painting. The artist's life, however, will be in danger because of an evil curse and a monster born of myth and brutal pain imprisoned in a well.
The screenplay of The Well is edited by the director himself in collaboration with Stefano Masi (producer of the film together with Mario Pezzi).
Nel cast, oltre a Lauren LaVera, sono presenti anche Claudia Gerini (Tulpa), Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Paura nella città dei morti viventi), Linda Zampaglione, Jonathan Dylan King, Lorenzo Renzi (Romanzo criminale – La serie), Taylor Zaudtke, Gianluigi Calvani, Yassine Fadel, Melanie Gaydos (Insidious: L'ultima chiave), Stefano Martinelli (Anger of the dead) e l'esordiente Courage Oviawe.
The SFXs, on the other hand, are by Carlo Diamantini (Hell's Fever, Apocalypse Zero: Anger of the Dead).
