BiM Distribution has released a featurette of The Vigil (USA – 2019), the horror film produced by Blumhouse, which will be released in Italian theaters on September 10, 2020, under the title The Vigil: it won't let you go.
Written and directed by Keith Thomas, here in his first feature film, The Vigil It is a horror film that sheds light on the Shomer, a term used in Jewish culture to refer to a guardian, someone who watches over the deceased until burial to protect them from evil spirits.
The film had its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.
Trama: il fragile Yakov (Dave Davis), un ex Hassid, viene assunto dal rabbino Reb Shulem (Menashe Lustig) come shomer per vegliare la salma di Litvak, un sopravvissuto all’Olocausto, nonché membro della comunità religiosa abbandonata di recente proprio dal ragazzo. Accettato il lavoro perché a corto di soldi, Yakov raggiunge la casa fatiscente del defunto ma, una volta sul posto, il giovane shomer si accorgerà che non si tratterà della solita veglia funebre ma, soprattutto, che c'è qualcun altro in casa.

After seeing The Vigil, Jason Blum has decided to entrust Keith Thomas with directing the new film adaptation of L'Incendiaria, Stephen King's famous novel.
