About a year after Lord of Tears, British director Lawrie Brewster is involved in a new horror project named The Unkindness of Ravens. Come suggerisce il titolo, il nuovo film di Brewster è incentrato su corvi indemoniati e, in modo più specifico, su una legione di tali creature che perseguita e tormenta Andrew, un veterano senzatetto. L'uomo troverà rifugio tra gli altopiani scozzesi dove cercherà di allontanare la devastante e ossessiva presenza dei corvi dalle sue visioni ma invece di trovare la tranquillità sperata, avrà a che fare con un nemico ben peggiore.
According to the director himself, The Unkindness of Ravens will be a cross between Apocalypse Now and The House, un film tremendamente inquietante che sfocia nel sovrannaturale. Tra l'altro, il film ha come obiettivo quello di offrire una storia dell'orrore originale che affonda le radici nella mitologia. The Unkindness of Ravens difatti si ispira alle Valchirie norrene e alla dea celtica Morrigan. Secondo l'antica cultura nordica infatti, i feroci corvi sovrastano i cieli della terra alla ricerca di vittime prescelte a cui strappare i bulbi oculari.
The screenplay for the film was handled by Sarah Daly. The main character Andrew is played by Jamie Scott Gordon. He is joined by David Izatt, Benjamin Ferguson, Craig J. Seath, David Ross, Dougie Clark, Daniel Casey, Doug Robertson, Keith Robson, and Amanda Gilliland.
A crowdfunding campaign is underway for the film, which is currently in post-production, on Kickstarter.
