Margin Films has announced the world premiere of The Unbidden, the Asian paranormal thriller directed by Quentin Lee, here in his first experience in the horror field. The film will be screened on April 22 at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
As specified by the director himself, The Unbidden is a female-led film about domestic violence.
The screenplay is by Narhee Ahn. The cast instead features the names of Tamlyn Tomita, Julia Nickson, Amy Hill, Elizabeth Sung, Michelle Krusiec, Akemi Look, Kimberly-Rose Wolter, Karin Anna Cheung. Hayden Szeto and Jason Yee.
Abstract: Writer Lauren Lee (Tamlyn Tomita) is haunted by the ghost of a man. The apparition's presence disturbs the woman's mental state, and she decides to invite her friends over for help. One of them believes that a séance can exorcise Lauren's demons, but a mysterious young man (Hayden Szeto) shows up at their place, interrupting the mediumistic practice.
