Directed by Floria Sigismondi (The Runaways), the film will be released in U.S. theaters on January 24, 2020 with Universal.
In The Turning, the story takes place in the 1990s and features a young governess who is hired by a wealthy businessman to care for Flora and Miles, his two orphaned grandchildren. However, the girl is convinced that the country house in which they live is haunted and that the two young boys are privy to terrible secrets.
The Turning stars Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Brooklynn Prince and Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049). Also in the cast are Mark Huberman, Barbara Marten, Niall Greig Fulton, Kim Adis, Denna Thomsen, and Karen Egan.
Scott Bernstein and Roy Lee appear in the production of the film while Steven Spielberg (Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind) is the executive producer.
The script is by Carey W. Hayes and Chad Hayes, the screenwriters of The Conjuring and Crucifixion.
