I Wonder Pictures has shared the official Italian trailer for. The Substance, the body horror featuring Coralie Fargeat, known for directing, in 2017, the thriller Revenge with Matilda Lutz.
Played by U.S. actress and film producer Demi Moore (The Seventh Sign, Striptease, G.I. Jane), The Substance will arrive in Italian theaters on October 17.
Margaret Qualle (Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood), Dennis Quaid (Beneath the Darkness, The Day After Tomorrow), Hugo Diego Garcia, Oscar Lesage and Gore Abrams also star.
Plot: Fired from the aerobics program because she is now in her 50s, Elisabeth (Demi Moore), a former Hollywood actress, responds to an advertisement for a mysterious experimental rejuvenation serum known as "the Substance."
She undergoes the session, unaware of the consequences: from her body is born by parthenogenesis a younger and more beautiful version of herself, named Sue, with whom Elisabeth will have to live, alternating with her every week, one going into hibernation and the other staying awake.
In return, the woman will be able to relive her youth because of everything Sue senses. Initially, things seem to work out until Sue decides to master the situation.
Coralie Fargeat also signed the screenplay of The Substance and also appears among the producers along with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan of the British film production company Working Title Films.
