Online the poster for The Strangers: Chapter 1, the first chapter of the standalone sequel trilogy to The Strangers, a saga created by Bryan Bertino and consisting of The Strangers (2008) and The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018).
The release of The Strangers: Chapter has been set for May 17, 2014.
Directing this new Lionsgate-branded franchise is Finland's Renny Harlin, whose filmography includes the horror Nightmare 4 - The Unwakened, The Exorcist - Genesis and The Covenant.
In line with home invasion The Strangers 2008, The Strangers: Chapter 1 is played by Madelaine Petsch, here as Maya, a girl driving across the country with her boyfriend. Along the way, a car breakdown forces them to spend the night in an isolated house where, throughout the night, they will be terrorized by three dangerous masked strangers.
The cast also includes Froy Gutierrez, Rachel Shenton, Ema Horvath and Gabe Basso, while the screenplay is by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland.
