According to reports from Deadline, Lionsgate is at work on the remake of The Strangers (USA - 2008), l'home invasion scritto e diretto da Bryan Bertino (Mockingbird - In diretta dall'inferno, The Dark and the Wicked).
Alla regia del nuovo film c'è Renny Harlin (Nightmare 4 - Il non risveglio, L'esorcista - La genesi) mentre la sceneggiatura è di Alan R. Cohen e Alan Freedland (The Freak Brothers).
Filming of the film is currently underway in Slovenia.
The new The Strangers sarà il primo capitolo di una trilogia e la storia vede protagonista Petsch, una ragazza che attraversa il paese con il suo fidanzato per iniziare una nuova vita altrove. A causa di un guasto all'auto però il loro viaggio si interrompe a Venus, in Oregon, costringendoli a passare la notte in una casa isolata, dove saranno terrorizzati da tre sconosciuti mascherati.
The cast includes Madelaine Petsch (Polaroid), Froy Gutierrez (Initiation) and Gabriel Basso (Super 8).
The film is produced by Courtney Solomon (After) Mark Canton (300), Christopher Milburn (The Wrong Day), Gary Raskin (Midway), Charlie Dombeck (Grandpa this time it's war!) and Alastair Birlingham (Moonfall).
Recall that the first The Strangers stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and enjoys a sequel, The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018), directed by Johannes Roberts.
