Online comes a new image of The Soul Eater (aka Le mangeur d'âmes), the new horror film by French directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury.
Known for directing the violent À l'intérieur and horror films Livid, Among The Living, the slasher Leatherface (2017) and The Deep House, the duo this time ventures into the film adaptation of Alexis Laipsker's novel of the same name.
The official synopsis of the novel foreshadows another bloody movie for the filmmakers: "He did not shout. They never shout". Some secrets are sometimes too heavy to keep. When the disappearance of children and bloody murders multiply in a small mountain village, an ancient legend resurfaces from oblivion forcing Guardian Commander and Gendarmerie Captain De Rolan to join forces to uncover the truth.
The Soul Eater stars Virginie Ledoyen (Saint Ange, The Beach), Paul Hamy (The Last Day on Earth) and Sandrine Bonnaire (Under the Sun of Satan).
Photography, on the other hand, is by Simon Roca (Kandisha).
The film is produced by Phase 4 Productions and Place du Marché Productions and will have a French theatrical release.
