According to MetalHammer, the script for The Slashin' of the Christ has been completed.
The Slashin' of the Christ is a religious slasher horror film that marks the directorial debut of Spencer Charnas, frontman of the heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills.
The project was announced last year by the singer, who wrote the script and enlisted some big horror veterans to help bring his first feature to life: Paul Soter (Super Troopers, Club Dread) co-wrote the script, while horror icon Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) is involved in the production of the project alongside Brian Witten and Chris Nilsson.
Spencer Charnas revealed that The Slashin’ of the Christ “It could be like The Exorcist, which was promoted by the Catholic Church because it showed on screen what they had always talked about.” and adds “As in everything we do, there is horror, there is violence, but there is also a wink to the camera.“.
Writing on the film is done as they are currently in discussion with several film studios.
