We present a preview of three Italian clips from the Muse (Spain - 2017), the horror film that will debut in Italian theaters tomorrow, August 22. Directed by internationally acclaimed Spanish director Jaume Balaguerò (Darkness, Bed Time, Rec, [REC] 4: Apocalipsis), Muse (aka Muses) is the film adaptation of the novel "Checkers number 13" by Jose Carlos Somoza.
Questa rivisitazione cinematografica offre un'elegante visione del genere horror in cui i concetti di bellezza, amore e arte sono tramutati in qualcosa di pericoloso e di terrificante. Il film mescola altresì intrigo, mistero e crimine.
Plot: Literature teacher Samuel Salomon (Elliot Cowan) is a man scarred by the death of his girlfriend, a tragedy that forced him to give up teaching. Since that sad day also, the professor has been tormented by a recurring nightmare in which a stranger is murdered during a ritual. When the same woman from the dream is found lifeless in the real world, Samuel reaches the crime scene to seek answers to his questions. There he will meet Rachel, a girl who, like him, claims to be haunted by the same nightmare. Together, the two will try to discover the identity of the mysterious lady, but their search will lead them into a bleak and dangerous world ruled by figures who have inspired artists over the centuries: the Muses.
In the cast of Muse appear Elliot Cowan, Franka Potente, Ana Ularu, Christopher Lloyd, Joanne Whalley, Manuela Vellés, Leonor Watling, Eve Connolly, Yennis Cheung, Ciaran McGlynn, Sam Hardy, and Eve Maher.
Jaume Balaguerò co-wrote the screenplay with Fernando Navarro.
