The project concerning the remake of The Crow, the cult feature film directed in 1994 by Alex Proyas, did not have a good gestation from the beginning so much so that there was talk of a real "curse." After more than three nearly comatose years, spent between stalled stages, the search for a director and lead actor, the film's production was suspended due to several problems, sending the project into a tailspin.
Recall that several directors were announced and then backed out: Stephen Norrington, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, F. Javier Gutiérrez, Corin Hardy. They are joined by several actors who had been assigned the lead role (Eric Draven) that cost Brandon Lee his life during the filming of the original movie. These include Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, and Jack Huston.
James O'Barr, the U.S. cartoonist who became famous for his comic strip "The Crow" from which Proyas' film was based, was also involved in the project.
