Thanks to Vanity Fair, the first images of Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård (It, It - Chapter Two) as Eric Draven in the The Raven, the new film based on the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr.
Produced by Lionsgate and written by Zach Baylin, the film is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) and will be released in U.S. theaters on June 7, 2024.
About Bill Skarsgård's look as the Raven, Rupert Sanders revealed the following to Vanity Fair: "I think Bill's uniqueness lies in his uncanny beauty... That look was mine in the 90s when I was going to squatter raves in London, contaminated with some modern influences like Post Malone and Lil Peep. I hope today's 19-year-olds look at it and think, "That guy is me.".
The Raven stars Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven/The Crow, a murdered musician who is resurrected to avenge his own death and that of his girlfriend (FKA Twigs).
The cast also includes Danny Huston (30 Days of Darkness), Laura Birn, FKA Twigs, Sami Bouajila, david Bowles (Army of Thieves), Isabella Wei, and Jordan Bolger (Don't Knock on That Door).
James O'Barr graphic novel was already adapted into a film of the same name in 1994 by Alex Proyas. The Crow, cult film starring the late Brandon Lee.
