Total Film has released the first image of The Forever Purge, the fifth and final chapter in the saga started in 2013 with The Purge and continued with the sequels Anarchy - Judgment Night (2014) and Judgment Night - Election Year (2016) and the prequel The first night of judgment (2018).
Produced by Blumhouse Productions in collaboration with Platinum Dunes and Universal Pictures, this fifth installment will be the final one and features Everardo Gout (Days of Grace) in the directing booth. The film's screenplay, on the other hand, is by James DeMonaco, the creator of The Purge franchise as well as the screenwriter of the other chapters and the director of the first three.
The release date has been set for July 9, 2021.
The new film brings The Purge outside its usual metropolitan setting, while continuing to address issues of class and race as previous chapters have done."
The story of The Forever Purge takes place after the events of Judgment Night - Election Year (2016) and stars Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), two teens who, having escaped the Mexican cartel, find refuge on a Texas ranch. The situation will worsen when, during the Vent, a group of strangers continue to break any rules even after the time limit (12 hours) granted.
In the cast of The Forever Purge Leven Rambin, Will Patton, Cassidy Freeman, Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta are featured.
