Inspired by "The Piper of Hamelin”, a German legend also known as "The Pied Piper", director Erlingur Thoroddsen brings to the big screen a terrifying story about a cursed melody, enlivened by the music of composer Christopher Young, already the composer of the soundtracks for numerous horror films (The Grudge, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister).
The Piper è anche l’ultima interpretazione sul grande schermo dell'attore britannico Julian Sands (Warlock, Il pasto nudo, Boxing Helena), qui nei panni del direttore d’orchestra Gustafson, al quale il film è stato dedicato.
Plot: Melanie (Charlotte Hope) is a young flutist and single mother who aspires to become a composer. The opportunity presents itself when she gets the task of completing the concerto her old mentor, who has mysteriously passed away, was working on. Unfortunately, she will discover to her cost that the unfinished melody she is working on conceals mysterious and frightening origins and has the power to awaken evil forces.
