Netflix has released, online, the full Italian trailer of The Pale Blue Eye - The West Point Murders., the crime thriller/horror film written and directed by Scott Cooper (Antlers).
The movie is the film adaptation of the gothic thriller novel of the same name written by Louis Bayard in 2006 and will arrive on Netflix on January 6, 2023.
The Pale Blue Eye - The West Point Murders. is a costume crime thriller starring Harry Melling (Harry Potter, The Chess Queen), here as a young Edgar Allan Poe. He is joined by Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale, who instead plays Augustus Landor, the retired detective assigned to investigate a series of murders.
Plot: West Point, 1830. A cadet is found dead, and at the morgue they discover that the young man's heart has been cleverly removed. Fearing damage to the fledgling military academy, its leaders involve local detective Augustus Landor (Christian Bale). To facilitate the search and shed light on the murder, the latter enlists the help of Edgar Allan Poe (Harry Melling), a detail-oriented cadet who despises the army but has a weakness for poetry...
Also in the cast are Gillian Anderson (The Crown), Lucy Boynton (Apostle), Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist), Toby Jones (The Mist), Simon McBurney (The Mole), Matt Helm (Crime Queens), Timothy Spall (Sweeney Todd), Fred Hechinger (Fear Street), Charlie Tahan (I Am Legend), and Robert Duvall (Apocalypse Now).
The film marks a new collaboration between director Scott Cooper and Christian Bale after The fire of vengeance (2013) e Hostiles - Hostile (2017). The two also appear in the production of the project along with John Lesher and Tyler Thompson of Cross Creek.
