The Other Lamb (Ireland, Belgium, USA - 2019), the horror film about a cult composed of women and girls, will be distributed by IFC Midnight (U.S. market). Written by Australian screenwriter Catherine S. McMullen and directed by Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska, The Other Lamb will arrive in U.S. theaters and on VOD platforms on April 3, 202o.
The protagonist of the story is Selah, a young girl born into a repressive cult known as Flock and to which only women and girls belong.
The Flock members live in a rural compound and are led by one man, Shepherd. Selah receives the honor of participating in the sacred ritual of the birth of the lambs (animals they feed on to survive) but for her the otherworldly experience will be unsettling. From that moment on, the girl will begin to have strange visions that will challenge everything Shepherd has taught her.
The cast includes Raffey Cassidy, Michiel Huisman, Eve Connolly, Denise Gough and Isabelle Connolly.
David Lancaster and Stephanie Wilcox of Rumble Films are the producers of the film along with Aoife O'Sullivan and Tristan Orpen Lynch of Subotica and Marie Gade Denessen of Zentropa (Jack's House).
