The Optical Festival 2017: "Best Feature Film" - Selezioni ufficiali

Today we reveal the latest official Selections, for the category BEST FEATURE FILM, of the 2017 edition of the The Optical Theatre Festival.
The finalist films are: Dis, Trauma, Get my Gun, Scars of Xavier and Cold Ground.
We will reveal the detailed program of the festival in the coming days.

The list of five finalist films competing for the award BEST FEATURE FILM:

Dis (USA - 2017) written and directed by Adrian Corona. Dis is a leaden horror depicting a horrific and magical journey.
Il film è stato recentemente premiato come "Best Extreme Feature Film", "Best Actor" (Bill Oberst Jr.) e "Best Evil Character" (Manuel Dominguez) at the DarkVeins Horror Fest.
Dis is played by prolific American actor Bill Oberst Jr. here as Ariel, a former soldier with a bloody past. The man takes refuge in the woods where a demonic figure uses his victims to feed his mandrake garden.
In the cast: Bill Oberst Jr. (Circus of the Dead, The Dooms Chapel Horror, The Chair), Lori Jo Hendrix, Peter Gonzales Falcon, Manuel Domínguez and Anne Voitsekhova.

Trauma (Cile - 2017), il disturbante e agghiacciante horror cileno scritto e diretto da Lucio A. Rojas.
A film thick with inhuman atrocities at the limit of the sustainable and in which all limits are crossed.Plot:Andrea (Catalina Martin) sets out on a journey with her sister Camila (Macarena Carrere), her friend Julia (Ximena del Solar) and her cousin Magdalena (Dominga Bofill). Upon reaching their destination, the four tourists will be brutally attacked by two psychopaths.In the cast of Trauma: Ximena del Solar, Catalina Martin, Daniel Antivilo, Macarena Carrere, Felipe Ríos, Dominga Bofill, Alejandro Trejo, Max Torres, Claudio Riveros and Eduardo Paxeco.

Get my Gun (USA - 2017) di Brian Darwas. Il regista ha co-scritto la sceneggiatura insieme a Jennifer Cerchietta. Trattasi di un thriller/horror sulla vendetta che parte dalla drammaticità per raggiungere folli e disperati tocchi horror.
Plot: After an innocent prank, Amanda (Kate Hoffman) finds herself pregnant but also loses her job. Making matters worse is a psychotic stalker who will stop at nothing to take possession of the child the woman is carrying.
Jennifer Cerchietta's name is also part of the film's production.
In the cast: Kate Hoffman, Rosanne Rubino, William Jousset, Christy Casey, Jacqueline Guillen, Wayne Gurman, Katherine Getz, and Rew Starr.

Scars of Xavier (Germany - 2017), the German thriller/horror triumphant at DarkVeins Horror Fest 2017 ("Best Feature Film" and "Best Special Effects").
The film is written and directed by Kai E. Bogatzki (the editor of Blood Feast - 2016), here directing his first feature film.
The story's protagonist is Xavier (Marc Engel), an introverted and antisocial man in his 40s who works by day at a car wash in Prague while at night he gives vent to his criminal impulses. An encounter with Karolina (Alexia Von Wismar), a bartender he is attracted to, will trigger a strong inner struggle within him.
In the cast: Marc Engel, Alexia von Wismar, Isabelle Aring, Angelina Markiefka, Jelly Francis Gaviria, Dirk Sonnenschein, Daniele Rizzo (Stung) and Oliver Troska.
Lucas Blank and Philipp Peißen handled the photography while the music is by Klaus Pfreundner. Magdalena Röhrig and Philipp Rathgeber, on the other hand, are the special makeup effects artists.

Cold Ground (Francia - 2017) scritto e diretto da Fabien Delage (La rage du Démon, Dead Crossroads: The Forbidden Files, The Wild Diaries).
Trama: 1976. Due giovani giornalisti partono per il confine franco-svizzero per indagare su uno strano caso riguardante mutilazioni del bestiame. Qui dovranno raccogliere anche delle testimonianze per una canale televisivo ma del gruppo scientifico che avrebbero dovuto incontrare non c'è traccia.
In the cast: Philip Schurer, Doug Rand, Gala Besson, Maura Tillay and Fabrice Pierre.
Special effects are by David Scherer (Thanatomorphose) and Kyle Thompson.
