TetroVideo has announced the distribution of The Obsessed (2019), the extreme body horror full of "practical" special effects with clear 80s and 90s appeal inspired by the story of Ricardo Lopez (1975-1996), the stalker of Icelandic singer Bjork. The Italian home-video release is scheduled for 2020.
We remember you that The Obsessed will have its U.S. premiere on October 27 at the Nighmare Film Festival, in Columbus, Ohio.
The direction of The Obsessed (review here) is by BAD TRIP Bros, an Italian-Albanian factory composed of Domiziano Cristopharo (House of Flesh Mannequins, Red Krokodil), Iva Cakalli and Jacopo Tomassini. Together with Andrea Cavaletto (Hidden in the Woods, Beautiful People, Hyde's Secret Nightmare), the latter two also handled the film's screenplay.
Plot: Ricardo (Jacopo Tomassini) is a man who becomes infatuated with singer Eva to the point of developing a real obsession with the woman. In a morbid way, the man will start writing her letters and dedicate a video diary to her. The news of the artist's engagement, however, will plunge the fan into a state of despair that will drive him to accumulate resentment toward the singer.
Also in the cast of this first Albanian horror produced by BAD TRIP Bros. are Bjordi Mezini and Elisa Carrera Fumagalli (Deep Web XXX).
The artistic team of BAD TRIP Bros consists of Jacopo Tomassini/Iva Cakalli (both heading the technical and FX department) and Domiziano Cristopharo, while the soundtrack is by Antony Coia (Virus: Extreme Contamination, House of Flesh Mannequins) with tracks by Susan DiBona (The Theatre Bizarre).
