The screenplay for the film is by Gary Dauberman and James Wan. The latter is also its producer along with Peter Safran.
Recall that the two chapters of the franchise about the Warren demonologists (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) are directed by James Wan: The Conjuring - The Conjuring (2013) e The Conjuring - The Enfield Case (2016).
Alla sopracitata saga sono correlati due spin-off ovvero Annabelle (2014) and The Nun (2018), la cui data di release è fissata nel 2018.
