Online the new poster for The Northman (US, UK - 2022), the film about Vikings directed by Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse). The film recently received an R rating (banned for under 17s) due to the presence of "strong violent, sexual content and even nudity" in the project.
The Northman will arrive in Italian theaters on April 21 distributed by Universal Pictures.
Set in 10th-century Iceland, the story of The Northman stars Alexander Skarsgård (Melancholia) as Amleth, a Viking prince who intends to avenge his father who was murdered many years earlier when he was a child.
The cast includes several celebrated actors including Willem Dafoe (Antichrist), Nicole Kidman (The Others), Anya Taylor-Joy (The VVitch) and Ethan Hawke (Sinister). They were joined by Claes Bang and Icelandic singer/songwriter/composer Bjork along with their daughter Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney.
The screenplay, on the other hand, is by Robert Eggers himself in collaboration with Icelandic writer and poet Sjón.
Mark Huffam, New Regency and Lars Knudsen (the producer of The VVitch, Midsommar, The Hereditary) appear in the production of The Northman.
