After the magnificent Horsehead and the recent Echoes, comes another film focusing on sleep paralysis, a topic that is apparently attracting some interest in the film field. It is titled The Nightmare and is a horror documentary that seeks to address the phenomenon of troublesome hypnagogic paralysis that causes discomfort and suffering to sufferers.
Il film è diretto da Rodney Ascher, autore di altri film di genere documentario e anche del segmento "Q is for Questionnaire" nell'horror collettivo The ABCs of Death 2. The cast includes Siegfried Peters, Yatoya Toy, and Steven Yvette. 
The release date in U.S. theaters and for video on demand is set for June 5.
La storia si concentra su Ascher che intervista e filma le persone a cui chiede di parlare della loro esperienza in merito alla paralisi notturna. L'obiettivo è quello di raccogliere più informazioni possibili sul noto disturbo del sonno evidenziando i sintomi e i fastidi che ciascun intervistato avverte durante la paralisi ipnagogica. Il risultato è terrificante.
