Through a post on his official Instagram page, musician, producer and director Rob Zombie confirmed that his next project will be the film adaptation of The Monsters (The Munsters) for Universal Pictures.
The Monsters is the well-known horror sitcom that debuted in the US in 1964 on the CBS network and consists of two seasons, of 38 and 32 episodes each.
About three months ago Murphysmultiverse revealed that the cast could include Sheri Moon Zombie and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Lily Munster and Herman Munster, respectively. In addition to the two actors, Richard Brake (31), Dan Roebuck (3 From Hell), Jorge Garcia and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) were also mentioned.
According to what was revealed by BloodyDisgusting instead, filming of the movie would begin last May in Budapest and that the film will be a Peacock exclusive.
Rob Zombie made his directorial debut in 2003 with The house of 1000 bodies followed two years later by The devil's house. Over the years he continued his directing career in the horror field by successfully directing the reboot Halloween - The Beginning, the sequel Halloween II, The Witches of Salem (2012), 31 (2016) and 3 from Hell (2019).
The Munsters originated as a TV series in the 1960s and tells the story of a family of monsters who leave Transylvania and move to an American suburb.
